Not cool. If you look at their characters, it won't be the only me who believe so. Nut Job is animated feature film (i even wonder if i want to call it so) in 2014 from ToonBox Entertainment. I can see the closest resemblance between The Rat & Remy in Ratatouille (Pixar Animation Studios), the squirrel & Hammy in Over The Hedge (Dreamworks Animation) the dog & Ozzy in Epic (BlueSky Studios). You may be able to say the gophers(?) in the film look like Gopher in Gopher Broke (Blur Studios) Plus overall concept of Nut Job basically looks like Over the Hedge and Open Season. These are just my presonal perception. The dog can be overlooked in terms of their looking, however Epic is just released less year ago so most directors and artists could have tried to avoid to use bulldog but could be a pit bull or whatever has the same character to it. Universe is Vast, Kryptonians! This turns out Bugs Life & Ants things - If you want to use the similar, keep the time distance away from the "original". There have been a lot feature films today, and now this industry became already "entertainment" - sadly as an artist. You may realize "Oh I have seen this character. Haven't you??" this or that. This is not offence, ah sorry it is. But I have to say this (parasitic) approach to the existing works gives me the quality loss of their artistic directions. Since when did we start making artworks just on the purpose of making "mass" money and audience's sympathies? I name this "fan art parasitism". I hear how many of you applaud with your agreements. "Feel the time and space, son. They are your arms and legs. If you try to be rich and popular from just what you have now, you won't. The advent come upon those who always have intimate caring to people you work with."
